Socks & Toothpaste, written by renowned Zambian scriptwriter Barney Kanjela, is the first production to be staged by the Windybrow Theatre following its recent re-launch. A sitcom, Socks & Toothpaste explores the modern, middle-class African household and provides insights that are hilarious and, at times, tinged with a bitter-sweetness.

The play unfolds on a refreshingly personal level and avoids falling back on socio-political issues for support. Here, for a change, is a look at African normality where the relationships between family members are strained by the little outrages committed in the home.

Socks & Toothpaste is directed by Rapulana Seiphemo of Generations and Tsotsi fame. The top flight cast of 5 includes Sello Motloung as Simon, Harriet Manamela as Ivy, Kabelo Thai as Wazi, Zandile Genu as Kuku, and Manaka Ranaka plays Milika.
